[00:00:00] Speaker A: There's levels of our revelation that helps us to grab hold of this because I've known for 30 years that, you know, it's the will of God for us to prosper. But I have to be honest, it's just in the last three to five years where I really am getting a hold of it. And I feel like I'm just entering into a room that God has for me about revelation, about prosperity. And so it's a mind renewal journey that each and every one of us have. Has to go. [00:00:45] Speaker B: Hello and welcome to this week's Wealth Builders podcast. Do you notice anything different? We are now doing a video podcast, so you can still listen to it on audio, but we've added video, and so we just want to thank you. I personally want to thank you. Billy and Becky want to thank you so much for being part of the wealth Builders family. And because of you, this podcast grew over 40% last year. And so we just want to connect more with you. You are part of the wealth Builders family. So this is taking it to the next level. And I'm telling you, I've got a great guest today, one of our most favorite people, one of my most favorite people in the world, Pastor Mike Davis. [00:01:30] Speaker A: Karen, it's so good to be here. I'm so glad to be part of the wealth builders family. It's such a blessing, and it's been just a great journey on this road to learn and to grow in the things of God. [00:01:44] Speaker B: Amen. And, you know, it really is like a family. When we get together, we kind of call each other brother and sister. We're always watching out for each other, and it just is so nice to have the support of people that really believe and hear that sound in the spirit that Billy is talking about, about prosperity with a purpose. And we're really excited to be sharing with you today sort of that foundation on prosperity. There's a lot of people that still think that God doesn't want them to prosper. And then there's another side of the ditch. You might say that prosperity would be all about us and ourselves, but what we teach at wealth builders is prosperity with a purpose. And, Mike, you are so encouraging with this message. So I'll start out with this question for you. Does God want us to prosper? [00:02:40] Speaker A: 100%? And from Genesis to revelation, you know, there's prosperity in the Bible, and it's the heart of the father. Karen, I know you're a parent. As a parent, we want our children to prosper. And so how much more does our heavenly father want us to prosper, but there's many scriptures that point to that, and I'm just excited to be able to talk about it with you today. [00:03:05] Speaker B: Wow. I'm really excited about it, too. And let's first talk about, you know, how did we learn that God wants us to prosper? I think everybody has a story, and so I'm going to share a little personal story with you. I was in banking for 25 years before I moved to Colorado because my son Levi was called to go to Charis Bible College. And when I was in banking, I always felt like making money was wrong or making money was bad. And that was one thing that. So I was always kind of trying to back away at church, like, oh, my goodness, I shouldn't be looking to prosper yet. There was something in me that really, I knew that there was success ahead. I knew that God had more for me, but the theology was not matching up with, you know, this desire on the inside of me. And so it was a journey for me, and I finally learned that, hey, God does want me to prosper, but it was finding that purpose for prosperity. And, Mike, you've been a pastor for how many years? [00:04:14] Speaker A: 30. [00:04:15] Speaker B: 30 years. And during that time, gosh, just share with us. Did you know that God wanted you to prosper? What was your journey with this? [00:04:26] Speaker A: Well, I was raised in that you shouldn't prosper. And then when I went to Bible school, they did talk about prosperity. So I have known for a little over 30 years that it is God's will to prosper. But, Karen, this is the thing. It's such a mind thing that we have to overcome. You know, third John, verse two, says, beloved, I pray above all things that you prosper and be in health. I mean, if that's not the will of God, then why is that? Scripture in the Bible, it says, above everything else, I want you to prosper and be in health. And I think, you know, there's levels of our revelation that helps us to grab hold of this, because I've known for 30 years that, you know, it's the will of God for us to prosper. But I have to be honest, it's just in the last three to five years where I really am getting a hold of it, and I feel like I'm just entering into a room that God has for me about revelation, about prosperity. And so it's a mind renewal journey that each and every one of us has to go on. [00:05:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I love your story because you kind of had the aha. Moment where you're like, you know what? I don't want to have to move in with my kids. I mean, just share with us that story that you were like, something has to change here. [00:05:50] Speaker A: Well, in 2014, I had an elderly pastor who passed away that I knew quite well. I mean, he didn't pass away. His wife passed away, and so. And his church just dwindled to nothing, Karen. And so he didn't even have Social Security. He had no 401K, no Social Security, nothing. And his church closed, and so he had to move back in with his kids. And I just went to God, and I was just crying out for him. I said, father, you know, this isn't right. This isn't fair. Here's a guy who's, the majority of his life, he's laid down his life for the kingdom of God, and now he has nothing, and he has to move back in with his kids. I say, God, that's just not right. And, Karen, the Lord spoke so clearly to me. He says, you're absolutely right. It's not right, and that's not my will. And it kind of took me back, and I went, so what's up with that? He says, well, there's decisions that everybody gets to make. Everybody gets to make choices when it comes to finances, when it comes to. Do you believe in healing? Do you believe in prosperity? We all have a choice, Karen. And so I just took it upon myself. I said, okay, God, I don't want to end up like that. So I started really seeking God, and it happened with that billy. You know the story. He invited me up, talked to me at a restaurant, and wrote down some things for me to do to buy real estate. And that was in 2014. Within six months, I quit living paycheck to paycheck. And let me just say this, you know, I felt like I was blessed, and I was. As far as all those years of my life, up to that point, every need was met in my life. I never went without. I never did. Couldn't pay a bill. I've always been able to pay my bills since I was 16 years old with my first car payment at age 16, all the way up to 2014, I've always been able to pay my bills. Always, always. So I thought, man, God has really blessed me, and that's true. But this is the thing. God will let you go to where you want to go. And so he opened up the lid for me. All right, I'm taking it back. I opened up the lid and said, okay, God, I want to prosper in the abundant way, in the abundant way. And that's when Billy taught me about real estate. And within six months, I quit living paycheck to paycheck. I was able to give more. I was able to be a bigger blessing. And how can that not be the will of God, Karen, to be a bigger blessing? [00:08:24] Speaker B: I totally agree. And I think that's the connection, you know, with wealth builders. It's all for a purpose now. We live well. God wants us to live well. It's not at all about doing without that, is not it? But when we pursue wealth, God's way, through real estate, both of us are in real estate, in business, we can leave a legacy for our children which lasts generations. And when we think about bringing transformation, it starts in our home, right? This is where our kids and our grandkids learn about who God is. And when we bring transformation to our own homes, we are then in a position to be able to extend that and bring Jesus into neighborhoods, communities, you know, even nations. And so, Mike, you know, when you had this understanding, a lot of people are comfortable. They don't know how to do anything outside of work and collect a w two. What were some things that you and I know you'll be transparent with us, but what did you have to actually go through to shift your understanding and mentality? And did fear come in the picture when you started to invest in real estate? [00:09:42] Speaker A: Yes, it did. And even more so for my wife, because our house was going to be paid off in two years and two years. And so that was our goal. I mean, even when I was a teenager, my goal was to get a house and get it paid off way before I retire or get to the retirement age. And so here I am. In two years, I'm going to have. This is 2014. So in 2016, our home would have been paid for. And I'm going to my wife saying, I need to take out $100,000 of equity out of our home and go start real estate. And she said, come again. And so. But we prayed about it, and she was a trooper. She says, if you feel really led by the Lord and you feel like this is something we need to do, I'm for it. And so there was fear to get over. But then, as since 2014, all these years, Karen, that, you know, I've really had to renew my mind and trust God. And I just believe that it's been a journey that I know that in psalms 35, verse 27, you know, our church quotes this every Sunday morning, that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servants. And then we are not just as servants. We are as kids. And so how much pleasure does God take in that? And so I'm just thankful, Karen, that God is just continually helping me to renew my mind because it seems like there's barriers for each person to continually break through. Okay. You know, we'll just look like Billy. We look up to him because he's. He's just really broadened our horizon. He's broaden it to where this is what you can do. And, you know, it's kind of like the person. I forgot his name. John Banner, I think it is. Who broke the four minute mile? They said it was impossible to do that. Karen, nobody can break the four minute mile. But you know what? After he broke it, there's over a thousand people who've broken that mile now. And just because somebody led the way and say it's possible. And so that's why I'm so thankful for Billy and Becky, because not only have they done it, but they're teaching everyone, as many people as they can. This is not only possible, but you can do it. And so that's just a great story, isn't it? [00:12:03] Speaker B: It's a great story. And when you were sharing about that, I was thinking it's almost like you've got maybe a diamond or something that is in one of your dresser drawers that you didn't know about. And once you discover it, right? And it's like, I didn't know I had this. And I think that so many people I know in my life have done this so much with the promises of God, I did not know it was there and would almost think, well, God's withholding some. Something from me. When you look at other people like Billy, it must be just for Billy. But as you walk things out, like what you're describing, it's for everybody that chooses to say yes, that says, you know what? I am going to renew my mind. And that's what Billy and Becky of wealth builders, that's what it's all about. But I was just going to talk about, like, with our, as parents and grandparents, it's really amazing because as we live it out in our households and our families, and we're teaching our children, okay, then they're learning it at a much younger age than we are. And now think ahead to our grandchildren as the teaching and training and sharing on, you know, the foundation of God, the principles and the laws of wealth that Billy teaches, our grandchildren will never know anything different. Yet you and I, going into it, had to renew our mind and kind of take that big step. [00:13:33] Speaker A: Oh, that is so great. And I'm so thankful that my kids know the truth. And it's the truth. And I just feel like there's so many people that are in our shoes though, Karen, that I feel like that's why wealth builders needs to be raised up, because people need to be taught this. And it's not just, oh, a one time seminar. Oh, okay. I heard that this is a mind renewing journey because no matter how much you're prospering, I know it's not enough. And because the more you prosper, the greater the blessing you can be. And so that's why I really want to prosper big, is because I want to be a blessing, Karen, you know, I think the more that you have this in your heart, you just see people that are hurting. I have so many people in my church that really are believing God. They're hard workers. They love the Lord with all their heart. And so I just think, you know what? I want to help them get over that hurdle. I want to help them. I want to be able to pay their house off. And my wife and I talked about that this January. Some goals of ours, you know, this is where I was stuck. I always wanted, I want to be able to pay their house off. And my wife just said, well, we can't do that now, but what can we do? You know what we can do, Karen? We can make a house payment for them. And so God is looking for us to take those little steps, just to take some little steps, if it's okay. This is a familiar scripture. Everybody knows this scripture, but Joshua one eight nine, it says, this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. And so God wants us to be successful. But the three things in there, it says we have to have the word of God coming out of our mouth. We have to meditate upon the word. And Karen, this year, I mean, like I said, I'm being transparent. I haven't meditated on the word throughout the day like I should have. It just came to me this January, like I just, I found out in the jewish culture, seven times throughout the day, they would stop and read the word and meditate upon the word. And I thought, well, man, that's a good habit to do. And so I tried to, throughout the periodic of the day, do this meditate upon the word of God. Be, really focus on the word of God. It's the will of God for me to be healthy. It's the will of God for me to be prosperous. So I meditate on those two major things. But then the third thing, Karen, it says, do the word so that you can do it. Yes. And so you speak it out of your mouth. You meditate upon it, then you do it. And so those little three steps, that one thing, instead of, oh, I want to pay somebody's house off, I can't do that. So you just shove, shove it off to the side. No. What can it you do? What can you do? God was always teaching people, what do you have? And what can you do with what you have? And so the little woman who had the oil, what do you have? You know, she could have said, I don't have anything. But she says, well, I've got a little bottle of oil, and it's just got a little oil in it. Okay, you can do something with that. And so I think that's where sometimes, at least I was stuck in that. I don't really have enough. But God says, okay, what can you do with what you have? And so I just think that's three great points to help kickstart this year off for me and my, my family and our church. [00:16:59] Speaker B: That is so awesome, Mike. So it is reading the word, speaking the word, and doing the word. [00:17:07] Speaker A: Yes. [00:17:08] Speaker B: And, you know, sometimes that doing is, you think, like, well, what does it mean to do the word? Sometimes all it is is, you know, if you have in your heart to do real estate, it might be just going on a free webinar or [email protected] to do some studying. Or maybe if you're in fear or anxiety, doing the word might just be saying, you know what I'm choosing to say I'm going to be anxious for nothing. And the word of God tells us, through prayer and thanksgiving, make your request known to God. So doing the word might be just praying, being thankful. And so it doesn't have to be. I love how you say, it doesn't have to be these big things. It's sort of this all or nothing mentality. And God's going to take us on this journey step by step. So you have really encouraged me with that, too, because we get so busy. Right. But those three steps are amazing. So I have to ask you, Mike. So now we're fast forwarding to 2024. How is melody feeling about real estate now? I guess it's almost ten years later. [00:18:16] Speaker A: Yeah, she has really changed. And we're doing short term rentals. We already got one rented out and she totally helped furnish that and got all the furniture placed. And she just really is enjoying it. And she's watched some of your things about staging and things like that. And now we're working on our second one. And hopefully within two weeks from now, it'll be good to go for a short term rental. So she is really loving it and she likes the money as well. [00:18:49] Speaker B: It was so fun when we were down in Florida. We've got our real estate coaching and then we've got advanced real estate coaching. And in the advance, after you go to coaching for one year, you get to, you're eligible to do the next one. We went down to Florida for boots on the ground, and I'm telling you, I saw Melody was coming alive. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Oh, she was taking notes and everything. She was just like a bloodhound. She was like, okay, I'm learning, I'm learning. And that's one of the major things is like you said, if you don't have money to do the big projects, okay, grow yourself. That's probably the number one thing. Just start learning and growing yourself. [00:19:28] Speaker B: That is so good. And you know, those of you that are listening to this podcast, you know, congratulations, you are taking, you are doing something. You are listening to this podcast and taking a step to go forward. And we have so much to offer at wealth builders. We've got events throughout the year. We've got free webinars that go on. We've got wealth builders University, and then we also have got the real estate workshop that is coming up. I think it's the first weekend in April. You can learn more about [email protected]. Events and that is a great for you to get started in your wealth building journey. So, Mike, you know, you're a pastor, you're in Pueblo. And I just wondered if you would share with people today either if they're going through Pueblo, if they live in Pueblo, how can they learn about your church? [00:20:23] Speaker A: Well, you can go to our website, Rocky mountainfamilychurch.org, and it tells all the information there. But we're at 1700 Horseshoe Drive here in Pueblo, Colorado. It's kind of on the east side, a little bit east of I 25. But, you know, I've always had it in my heart, you know, that we want to be a blessing in our church. But for the last 1015 years, we've had a real strong emphasis on the grace of God and probably the last two years, a really strong emphasis on healing and prospering. And so we want, it's the grace of God that just causes us to be able to do what we need to do. That's the great thing about God. He says, okay, I want you to do this. Oh, and by the way, I'm going to give you the wisdom, the knowledge and the ability and the strength to do it. So it's like, wow, it's just we have such an awesome God. And one of my favorite scriptures is two, Peter one, three. It says that he's given us everything that we need, Karen, for life and godliness, everything we need. So if you need wisdom, the ability to do a business, he says, I can help you with that. I have deposited that into you. And so I'm just thankful that we serve a God like that. And wealth builders is an atmosphere that causes everyone to say, you know what? I can do it. It's just a great atmosphere. When we go in February, the main event, Karen, it's just a great atmosphere. Everybody should be there and never miss that. [00:21:51] Speaker B: I agree. Wow, Mike, that's great. And Mike is also a real estate coach with us at wealth Builders. Just because, you know, we do the coaching, we do what we do because our lives have been changed and that's because of Billy and Becky saying yes to God. So if you have not yet come to an event or have not yet completely connected with us, I want to invite you to do so through the events. Join us for wealth builders boot camp, the free webinars. When you come in person to events, it's great because we get to actually talk to you and meet you. So I just really encourage you to do that. I think 2024 is going to be an amazing year and when we line ourselves up with what God already has provided, but we need to connect, connect with it, you know, get that the mind and lined up with the spirit, with the Holy Spirit that's in us. I really think it's going to be a year of acceleration. So, Mike, I really appreciate you and any final thoughts you want to share today. [00:22:56] Speaker A: I'm just thankful and I believe when we come to these events, it just causes us to think differently. And we all need to think differently. Karen. God, the Bible says in two corinthians, he's given us the mind of Christ. It's time we start using what he has given us for the glory of God. [00:23:13] Speaker B: Amen. Mike, thank you so much for being on today and thanks all of you, our wealth builders family, for listening to this podcast, please share it with your friends and family and let's make 2024 the best year ever. God bless and have an amazing rest of the day.
