[00:00:15] Speaker A: Hello and welcome to this week's Wealth Builders podcast. You know, this has been so fun. Like, we're launching the video podcast, and I can honestly tell you my very favorite guest has joined me, my amazing husband, David Metcalf.
[00:00:31] Speaker B: Well, thank you for having me on your program here with wealth builders. It's exciting because this is a family. We love the wealth builder family. We love the people that we've met, and just the community of people where we're all on a learning experience together. It's been really great. Thanks for having me.
[00:00:51] Speaker A: Oh, thanks for being here. And it is wonderful because sometimes we have a journey that we're trying to launch out into, but if we're not around people that have that same thing, it's really difficult. So the wealth builders family, and that's really what Miss Becky calls it. It's a family is a group of people. We really support each other and we come around and you and I, our lives have been transformed dramatically from Billy and Becky.
[00:01:16] Speaker B: Absolutely.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: And so it's just so great to have you. So I know he's my husband, but.
[00:01:22] Speaker B: I'm just telling you, I know she's.
[00:01:24] Speaker A: My wife, but he has got the most amazing revelation and understanding on prosperity. Like, we really started to get into this learning from Billy and Becky, and then you go in deep into the scripture, because everything we do, we want it to be based on the word of God. And you have uncovered some nuggets. And we're only going to be able to cover a portion, of course, in this podcast on prosperity that I think is really going to help all of you. It's definitely helped me. And you know what? This is a big year.
God has chosen us to be on the earth during this critical time. And I think understanding this and prosperity, generational wealth is so much of what he's trying to get across.
[00:02:09] Speaker B: It's really people that are all on a journey. And I think the part to feel okay about as a person is to realize, all right, I'm on a journey, but everybody's on a journey.
[00:02:22] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:02:23] Speaker B: So it's okay if I really don't know a lot. And I think Billy has set the pace because he's told people, just get some knowledge. When you get the knowledge, you're going to get some understanding because you actually get involved and get experience, and you build a skill set that starts to become a reality.
And even if it's just an understanding, that's a reality.
[00:02:47] Speaker A: It is.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: And I think that's really important for everybody just listening just to realize wherever you are. And when you said increase, I think this is a year of increase, I think too recently we were reading Luke chapter two, verse 52. It's an interesting verse because Jesus is twelve years old.
[00:03:05] Speaker A: He's twelve years old.
[00:03:07] Speaker B: He's freaking his mom out because he disappeared.
[00:03:11] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: I mean, he didn't physically disappear, but he stayed behind in Jerusalem. They left and kind of figured it out. It's not like know, like you would load your kids in the van.
They figured out after a day of travel that he wasn't there. So they go back and they find Jesus in the temple and they realize that he was already about the purpose in his life.
[00:03:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:03:34] Speaker B: But the interesting thing about that verse is it says that Jesus was growing in wisdom and maturity, stature, and favor with God and favor with man. And so if you take a look at that, every part of that means that Jesus was experiencing increase. And every part of that means that Jesus had access because you can't really increase if you don't have access. So what I wanted to just mention when you mentioned that we're in a place of increase, God has got you on your own track of increase and he wants you to grow in the wisdom, the ability to apply information that you're learning. He wants you to mature in that so it doesn't feel like you're constantly asking what's going on.
And his favor increases because you're able to operate in what you're learning.
[00:04:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: Be comfortable in your process.
[00:04:27] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. And there's some things that you and I have done where we got a glimpse of this and we understood, like God wants us to prosper. We needed that new wine skin. And we took steps to learn and gain the knowledge, which is what wealth builders is all about.
The other thing that I was thinking about too is as we are looking at this, Billy says, do you become who God has called you to be or become who you need to be to do what God has called you to do? And that has just really resonated with me. I know we've talked about it, but there's a part, when we get a glimpse of what God has for us, there's a part that we play that we cooperate with that. But even just understanding what God has already done, his design and purpose for prosperity, and when we line up with our purpose, that's aligned with his purpose, there's just no stopping us.
[00:05:30] Speaker B: Yeah, there's really not. I actually have an idea about the part that we play.
[00:05:34] Speaker A: Oh, good. I want to hear it.
[00:05:36] Speaker B: Okay. I think one of the challenges that we have as we enter our own journey. You're on a journey. We're on a journey. When we enter that journey, we have to realize that part of us is the lens that we've grown up in, and we have to realize that that lens is not always accurate.
[00:05:55] Speaker A: That is so good.
[00:05:57] Speaker B: Things happen in life that cloud your vision. And I was thinking about driving a couple of days ago. It was freezing cold. My windshield was kind of muddy, so I did the spray water, and it was so cold that the water froze on the windshield. And the wipers are going like that. And I realized that what I'm looking at is a distorted view of the highway. So I've got to slow down and really navigate what is going on until I could get my defroster going. Right.
[00:06:25] Speaker A: To change my lens and clear it out.
[00:06:28] Speaker B: Yeah. So part of the thing I want to mention here is we each have to play the role where we have to be willing to take our opinions, which have been formed by our experience, our culture, our education, our families. Be willing to set that aside and just really take a fresh look. Okay. Holy spirit, what are you saying?
[00:06:48] Speaker A: Oh, that's so good.
[00:06:50] Speaker B: What is your perspective? And he kind of gets that Defrostor going where all that obscure vision where you can't really see, it starts to clear up, and then you see things clearly and you can go down the road, because we're on a journey, going down the road. We're on a path to the destination, but you got to be able to see through that lens. Right.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: That is so good. And just thinking about growing up, we've all had stuff, right? We talk about this all the time, like things that we've had amazing parents, so we're totally blessed. But there are some things that, as we've come together, we talk about. Here's your background, here's the things that I learned. And then you examine it with the word of God and realize, like, hey, I think we have some adjustments here that we need to make, and we all have that opportunity. And that's why wealth builders, everything is based on the word of God.
[00:07:44] Speaker B: Right?
[00:07:45] Speaker A: And, Dave, you have a great understanding, and we're on a journey. I know you feel like you're still on a journey. I just look like you really would turn this.
But just understanding what God has actually already provided for us, and we've been talking about this recently just like, wow, everything that we need is actually on the inside. And I know we've heard that a lot, but there is something to actually applying it and saying, wait, there's something in me to release and prosperity being part of what Jesus has provided, there is a cooperation or a release of that that we need to say, yeah, you know what? I'm going to invite you into this Holy spirit.
[00:08:31] Speaker B: Yeah. And there is a power within. Of course, it's not us. It's the Holy Spirit. It's Jesus. And I had a verse I wanted to read, please, and just kind of share a thought on about this process. And this is in Daniel, chapter twelve, verse three through four. And it says, those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven.
So one of the things that we realize here is that Daniel actually, he foreseen it. He looked out ahead and he realized that the people of God had this insight that was completely uncommon. You just didn't have it without that reflection of God's glory in your life.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:09:21] Speaker B: And so what we realize is that we're starting off where we may feel like we're limited and we don't have the education, but we got to realize as we're getting education, which is important, that the Holy Spirit, the teacher is showing up and the Holy Spirit shows up in different teacher forms. It might be a book, it might be a boot camp, it might be a billy or know like your teachings, that are so powerful because God sees us and we begin to reflect, just like Daniel says in this verse, that we actually reflect the brightness of the expanse of heaven, which means that the sun is making these little stars reflect. They don't have a planet, doesn't have its own little brightness, but the earth gets lit up by the sun. So essentially our lives get lit up by the Holy Spirit and we begin to see that we have insights because Jesus is wanting to give us clarity and wisdom to navigate life in a way that really reflects the kingdom.
[00:10:25] Speaker A: Wow. So good.
[00:10:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:27] Speaker A: Oh, will you share, too? We were talking the other day about how even Jesus said, I do nothing of myself.
And that to me when we were talking about that is like, wow.
What do you mean? And he was just, like, showing an example of we do nothing by ourself, but it's through the Holy Spirit. Can you just talk about that a bit? Because I think it really helps people to realize that the pressure we cooperate, we steward, but there shouldn't be pressure on us. And that release of pressure or that idea, like, hey, don't take the pressure on, is an understanding that is already done for you and we really just need to draw it out.
[00:11:12] Speaker B: Yeah, certainly Jesus said in John eight, that I don't do anything amazing on my own.
And I think one of the reasons he said that and one of the reasons why the Holy Spirit had that recorded is because Jesus wanted to show his life. He wanted to model a life totally dependent on God because he was a man. And if he did everything that he did as God, then we would be impressed, but we wouldn't think that we could do it, too.
[00:11:44] Speaker A: True.
[00:11:44] Speaker B: But when he did it as a man and said, hey, I can only do this with God, not myself, then he shows us that you can do this, too. And in fact, in John, chapter five, verse 17 through 21, he actually talks about doing the things he sees a father doing, saying the things that he hears a father saying, which shows how he's listening to God and he's just repeating what God's saying, or God has given him an idea, a vision of something, and he's just doing that, which is really going back to the Luke chapter two, verse 52, that we started with, where Jesus grew in favor with God of man. He grew in favor with God only in the sense that God was moving more through him as a yielded person. Not that he needed favor. God always favored him. He always had the affection of God, the love of God. But as he yielded himself to the father, he was able to release that favor of God. And so that kind of gets into the whole idea that we don't have to build it up and work it up. We can just simply yield ourselves to God, and we become like Jesus. We're just doing what God is enabling us to do.
[00:12:58] Speaker A: So he was showing know, because he was all God, all man, right? So he had Holy spirit in him. And then because of what he did, we have holy spirit in us.
[00:13:10] Speaker B: Right?
[00:13:11] Speaker A: And the area that just really connected this prosperity, this multiplication, is when he was modeling for the disciples, like with the loaves of bread.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: Right.
[00:13:24] Speaker A: And can you just share on that? That's something we've been in this last week, and I'm still thinking about. It's like, my goodness, this is.
[00:13:37] Speaker B: Yeah, it's pretty cool, because here Jesus is doing something very important with the disciples. He's teaching them. He's given them a model that they can follow.
And the model that they can follow is, whatever I'm showing you here, you can do that, too. And it took them a little while to get into the rhythm.
[00:13:57] Speaker A: Sure did.
[00:13:58] Speaker B: But when the disciples came and they saw the people that were hungry, their response was, hey, Jesus, tell them to leave.
They got to get out of here.
[00:14:09] Speaker A: And go eat, we don't have enough food, right?
[00:14:11] Speaker B: And then Jesus said, well, you feed them. And they're like, hey, all we got is this little bit.
[00:14:17] Speaker A: They're looking at their practical lunch, right? No, this is mine.
[00:14:21] Speaker B: Yeah. And Jesus begins to obviously multiply twice the food for 5000, 4000, and then probably other stories we don't even know about. But each time he did it, he actually had them be involved and put their hands on it. And he changed their thinking to not look at the problem as much as to look to God as a solution. And here's the example he gave. This is really cool.
The Bible says in this story of him breaking the bread that he looked up into heaven when he gave thanks. And that word in the Greek is actually a perspective shift. So he shifted his perspective from the problem of, oh wow, I've only got two fish and five loaves. There's 5000 people. He's doing the math.
He's like, okay, God, this doesn't add up here. But he shifted his perspective and even that was modeling to the disciples because they heard what he said. And so he thanked the father. He got his perspective on the provision, so good and the opportunity and the ability. And then he began to move out. And that's one of the ways that God prospers us is he helps us get our view off of the current market, off the interest rates, off of this, off of that, and onto him and to ready ourselves for the provision of multiplication.
[00:15:45] Speaker A: Wow, that is so powerful. That really impacted me because I'll look at something, maybe it's our bank account or whatever. I'm just thinking, oh my gosh, we don't have enough to do what we want to do. And I think that's a tendency that we have to start to look only in the natural. And what you're describing is like, look at what you do have and trust God to multiply it. And I love how Jesus, he really modeled it.
He didn't say, I'm going to do this for you every time and only I can do it, right. He's like, I'm going to model for you God's math, right? And it is not our natural math, but we remember the purpose of prosperity with it too. And they didn't consume in just like, oh my gosh, I'm going to take all this food and I'm going to store it in my freezer. Right? Well, they probably didn't have a freezer back then, but the purpose of that multiplication is they fed others, right.
[00:16:47] Speaker B: And it's good to recognize too, that there's two parts of this. One part is the supernatural adding on, and that's important. The other part to really think about is the practical. What are the proven strategies? What are the best practices that really reflect God's wisdom? So, like, even in wealth builders or at the boot camp, you'll hear like Bill Bromcik talk about buying properties for no money. And the first time you hear him.
[00:17:18] Speaker A: Say that, you're like, no money down.
[00:17:20] Speaker B: Or no money down, you're like, what?
[00:17:21] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry, it's not free, but no money down. Big difference there.
[00:17:28] Speaker B: So the first time you hear him say that, you're like, wait, what?
But as you go to the session and you learn, you realize, wow, okay, this is information I'm getting. And then also God can come alongside of that and show you how to utilize it in your circumstances.
[00:17:46] Speaker A: That's so good. One of the things that have really caused Billy and Becky to do, they don't need to do this, right? Wealth builders is something that they're called to do. Sure, they have plenty to do, but that we know we have heard like, hey, God wants us to prosper, but teaching how to prosper, the practical steps. So once we know, like, yeah, God wants us to prosper, but how do we actually walk this out? And that's really the sweet spot of wealth builders.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: Yeah, it really is. And it's like, Billy, if you listen to his messages, and even others on the team, Dan and Mike, of course, yourself, you'll get this culmination of information that prosperity is having the resources necessary to accomplish God's will in your life and to have wealth that makes a difference and to leave a legacy. So you got to realize that there's just like these things going on and the Holy Spirit is going to help each person defrost that front windshield. See clearly and all make sense.
[00:18:58] Speaker A: Yeah, it's amazing.
Wow. This has been like always. I get to visit with this guy every day.
[00:19:06] Speaker B: I get to visit with her.
[00:19:09] Speaker A: Totally blessed. But this is really an amazing perspective. And Dave, I just really want to thank you for being know. We've had big days, you've been at work today, but this is something that we're passionate about. We just really want to impart this and share and get your feedback too. I mean, you all have stories, you have things that have helped you, and so we want to hear from you as well. But this is a family. This is a group of people. If you are watching this podcast or listening to it, you have heard that what Billy says is a sound in the spirit. And it's something where we are called to build prosperity for purposes of the kingdom according to Deuteronomy 818. But sometimes we just need some help on how to walk that out practically, right?
[00:19:57] Speaker B: That's right.
[00:19:58] Speaker A: And that's what wealth builders is all about. So again, I just want to thank you all for being a part of this. Dave, thank you for being on this podcast.
[00:20:04] Speaker B: Thanks for having me.
[00:20:05] Speaker A: So, Dave, before we go, any final thoughts on this subject?
[00:20:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I would say a great way to apply information that even we talked about tonight is to maybe write some thoughts out and just start off. Write or think, it doesn't matter, but you're thinking about the content. And it's similar to what Mary did. Mary saw what was happening with Jesus, and the Bible says in Luke that she treasured the things that she was experiencing and she pondered them in her heart. So just think about some of maybe the nuggets that stood out to you on this podcast, what sounded relevant to you, and just begin to kind of think about how that looks with God's hand in your life and how he wants to help you, for example, to have the resources to accomplish his will in your life or to have wealth that makes a difference. Maybe he wants to put on your heart an area where he wants you to make a difference or maybe have something in your heart already to make a difference. So it's a good way to just apply some of the things that we talked about tonight.
[00:21:09] Speaker A: That's awesome. Thank you so much, Dave, for being on. Thanks for having me. Thanks all of you for being part of our wealth builders family. God bless you and make it a great rest of the day.
